Abstract

Abstract. The data of research on the prevalence of erythrocyte phenotypes of the ABO blood group system and Rh factor in patients with COVID-19 infection in Ukraine and the world are presented. Aspects of the dependence of the incidence of COVID-19 on blood type at the regional level, the compatibility of the results with other research data are discussed. A retrospective analysis of 621 cases was performed to determine the influence of blood group on the incidence of coronavirus infection. The difference between the frequency of erythrocyte phenotypes in patients and nonpatients was revealed. Among patients with COVID-19, patients with blood type A (II) had the highest proportion (p < 0.05) and a decrease in the proportion of rhesus-negative carriers (p < 0.05) was observed.
