Abstract

Purpose of the study. To analyze the history of the establishment and organization of the Department of Therapeutic Dentistry of Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University, its scientific achievements, and information about the staff who contributed to the training of scientific and pedagogical personnel and highly qualified medical practitioners. Research Methods. The bibliographic method was used to study library catalogs and sources on the history of medicine and pedagogy, as well as the chronological method, which allows the analysis of the features of the formation and development of medical education in different historical periods. Scientific Novelty. The study examines the history of the development of dental education and the influence of various historical events on this process. The stages of higher medical education reform are identified, and information about the professional and scientific activities of key figures in the development of therapeutic dentistry of this period is clarified. The study highlights the features of the educational process organization and the formation of medical personnel in medical educational institutions at each stage of state development and educational policy. This allows for the correct assessment of positive and negative trends in providing a basis for developing modern models of national educational systems. Conclusions. Creating scientific and educational centers for training highly qualified specialists promotes progress in the medical field and improves the quality of dental care.
